A witness claims the accused confessed to killing his ex-wife for infidelity during a chaotic scene in Toronto
Toronto: On August 26, 2022, Soula Berdoussis thought she stumbled upon an accident while driving down Bathurst Street. She saw a chaotic scene with cars everywhere and people standing around.
As a driver for “Circle of Care,” she was in a hurry to pick up a client. But when she got closer, she realized it was much worse than an accident. She saw two bodies, one on the road and one on the sidewalk.
In court, Berdoussis shared how she jumped out of her minivan, hoping to help. She noticed the woman on the ground had marks on her face, and it didn’t look like an accident to her.
Then she looked at the other body and saw wounds. In shock, she asked a man nearby what happened. He replied, “I killed her because she cheated.” She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
Feeling scared, she thought she might be in danger too. She told the man not to move, and he seemed to comply. Bystanders informed her that the women had been stabbed, not shot.
When police arrived, Berdoussis told them about the confession. She was shaken by the whole experience and found it hard to witness such violence. The trial is still ongoing.
