Montreal: A 55-year-old man was found dead in a park in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. It looks like hypothermia might have been the cause.

He was discovered unresponsive in a public square and later pronounced dead at the hospital. It’s a tough situation.

Borough Mayor Pierre Lessard-Blais called this death a “predictable tragedy.” He believes it highlights the urgent need for a solid plan to tackle homelessness.

In a post on social media, he mentioned that the premier thinks the worst of the homeless crisis is behind us. But Lessard-Blais doesn’t agree with that view.

He’s really concerned that without more emergency shelters and warming centres, we’re going to see more deaths as winter rolls in. It’s a serious issue that needs attention.
