Toronto: So, here’s the scoop. Two guys, Lenneil and Shakiyl Shaw, were originally found guilty of first-degree murder for the shooting of a teenager back in 2016. They’ve now switched their plea to manslaughter.

They were sentenced to ten years, but since they got credit for time already served, they’re out now. Crazy, right? They had been out on bail after winning an appeal that called for a new trial last February.

The whole thing started when 17-year-old Jarryl Hagley was shot at a Pizza Pizza late one night. A third guy, Mohamed Ali-Nur, was cleared of any charges in the appeal. Initially, all three were facing life sentences after a 2019 trial.

The appeal court wasn’t too impressed with the evidence against them, saying it was “far from overwhelming.” It’s a wild turn of events, and it’s got everyone talking.
