Ottawa: So, Donald Trump just had to stir the pot again. He called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau the governor of the “Great State of Canada” in a recent post on Truth Social. This came after a dinner where they chatted about trade and tariffs.

During that dinner at Mar-a-Lago, Trump joked about making Canada the 51st state. It was all in good fun, or so they say. Trudeau’s Public Safety Minister, Dominic LeBlanc, was there too and confirmed it was just teasing.

Trump’s post mentioned he’s looking forward to more talks with Trudeau about tariffs and trade. But Trudeau isn’t too thrilled about the idea of steep tariffs, saying they could really hurt Canada’s economy. He thinks Trump’s tactics are just a way to shake things up in negotiations.

This little exchange has definitely caught attention, and it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out in the future.
