Scarborough: A devastating house fire happened over the weekend. It took the life of an eight-month-old baby. Three others, including a four-year-old, were hurt.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene near Finch Avenue and Brimley Road. They got the call just before 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.

A 38-year-old man was found with serious injuries. He’s in critical condition and under police watch.

The baby, a four-year-old boy, and a woman in her 70s were rescued. Sadly, the baby didn’t make it despite all efforts.

Toronto Police Duty Insp. Saleem Husain shared the sad news. He praised the heroic work of paramedics and hospital staff.

The four-year-old is recovering from smoke inhalation. The elderly woman is also on the mend.
