Vancouver: So, there’s this guy, Anthony Vo, who got caught up in the whole Capitol riot mess back in January 2021. He was recently found guilty and is still stuck in immigration custody in British Columbia, even after getting a pardon from Trump.

His lawyer, Damilola Asuni, mentioned that Vo is planning to drop his asylum claim in Canada. He might be heading back to the U.S. pretty soon, maybe even this week. Vo was pretty stoked to hear about the pardon, which Trump announced just hours after returning to the White House.

The Canada Border Services Agency nabbed him earlier this month, claiming he was a fugitive and that they had no record of him entering Canada. Asuni is scratching his head, not sure how Vo made it into the country in the first place.

Vo was spotted snowboarding at Whistler, and he even posted on social media about being happy that Canada accepted his asylum claim. But now, it looks like he’ll be heading back home soon. The U.S. Attorney’s Office had already convicted him last June for disorderly conduct and other charges related to the Capitol incident.

It’s a wild situation, and it’s still unfolding.
