A dangerous storm is set to hit Ireland, bringing winds over 150 km/h and life-threatening conditions for millions
Dublin: A powerful storm is brewing in the Atlantic, and it’s no joke. This storm, named Éowyn, is expected to hit Ireland hard, bringing some serious winds and wild weather.
It’s already made headlines for causing record snowfall in the southern U.S., and now it’s on track to become one of the strongest storms ever to hit Ireland. The Irish Meteorological Service has issued a rare red weather warning, which is a big deal.
They’re predicting winds could reach over 150 km/h, with some areas possibly seeing gusts even higher. Just to give you an idea, that’s stronger than the winds recorded during Hurricane Juan in Canada.
With wave heights expected to hit around 12 metres, coastal areas are at risk of flooding. The Met Office is urging everyone to stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel.
So, if you’re in Ireland, it’s time to batten down the hatches and prepare for some rough weather ahead. Stay safe out there!
