Toronto police are set to share new details about a November shootout at a recording studio that led to multiple arrests and ongoing investigations
Toronto: So, there was this wild shootout at a recording studio last November. The police are finally ready to give us an update on what went down.
They’re holding a press conference at 10:30 a.m. to share more info about the incident that happened at Queen Street West and Sudbury Street.
It all started when three guys rolled up to the studio around 11:30 p.m. and started shooting at a group outside. But the folks inside didn’t just sit there—they shot back!
Things got chaotic. The shooters ended up hiding behind a police car that was nearby for a different reason. When they tried to escape, their stolen car got hit by another police vehicle, and they took off on foot.
Meanwhile, the people inside the studio tried to ditch their guns in trash bins as they made a run for it. The police ended up arresting several people inside and found a bunch of firearms.
Out of the 23 people arrested, eight have been charged so far, and more charges are expected. Some of those arrested were already out on bail, which is pretty wild.
The ages of those involved range from 16 to 30, including a young guy from Brampton who’s facing serious charges related to a previous shooting.
It’s a lot to unpack, and we’ll see what the police have to say later today.
