With the election call, Ontario’s parties are ramping up their campaigns and strategies for the upcoming vote
Ford’s saying he needs a strong mandate to tackle those pesky tariff threats from the U.S. But, of course, the opposition is calling him out, saying he’s just trying to take advantage of good polling numbers.
No matter the reason, the parties are in full swing. They’re busy nominating candidates, finalizing their platforms, and getting their ads ready. The Liberals have over 100 candidates lined up, while the NDP is also making moves with their nominations.
The Progressive Conservatives are working on filling their slate too, but they’ve got a bit of a way to go. They held a big meeting this weekend to strategize for the campaign launch.
Ford’s been a bit all over the place when asked about a fully costed platform. One minute he says budgets are enough, and the next he’s promising to release a detailed plan. It’s a bit confusing, to say the least!
The Greens are also in the mix, celebrating their candidate nominations and hoping to build on their recent success. They’re focusing on a few key ridings where they think they can win.
Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner is feeling optimistic, saying they’re ready to tackle issues like housing affordability and healthcare access. It’s going to be an interesting race, that’s for sure!
