A recent poll shows Liberal voters leaning towards Mark Carney over Chrystia Freeland as the preferred choice for party leadership
Ottawa: So, there’s this new poll out that’s got everyone talking. It shows that Liberal supporters are really leaning towards Mark Carney as their next leader. Pretty interesting, right?
Polling firm Leger asked about 1,500 folks over the weekend who they think should take over from Justin Trudeau. It’s a big deal since the party is looking for a new direction.
They even included names of people who’ve dropped out or decided not to run, like Anita Anand and Christy Clark. But Carney came out on top with 27% support from Liberal voters.
Freeland wasn’t too far behind at 21%, while Clark trailed with just 6%. It’s a close race, especially since Carney and Freeland were almost neck and neck among all respondents.
Neither of them has officially thrown their hat in the ring yet, but we’re expecting some announcements soon. It’s going to be exciting to see how this unfolds!
Interestingly, a good chunk of people—46% overall and 30% of Liberal voters—said they’re not sure who should lead the party next. That’s a lot of uncertainty!
This whole situation is definitely one to keep an eye on as we move forward. Who knows what will happen next?
