OTTAWA: So, Leona Alleslev is back in the game! She’s looking to run again as a Conservative in Kingston and the Islands. It’s been a bit of a journey for her.

She first got elected in 2015 as a Liberal but switched sides to the Conservatives in 2018. She wasn’t happy with how the Liberals were handling things, especially the economy.

After making the switch, she won her seat again in 2019 and even became deputy leader for a while. But then, in 2021, she lost her seat to a Liberal candidate.

Last year, she even tried to run for party leader but had to drop out because she couldn’t raise enough funds. Now, she’s ready to give it another shot!

This news was first shared by The Canadian Press on December 15, 2024. It’ll be interesting to see how her campaign unfolds!
