A powerful winter storm is sweeping from the U.S. to the UK, bringing heavy snow and dangerous conditions across multiple regions
New Orleans: A historic winter storm hit the Deep South on Tuesday, breaking snowfall records that have stood for over a century. Can you believe that?
More than 30 million people were under a snowstorm warning, stretching from southern Texas all the way to Georgia, and up through the Carolinas to Virginia. That’s a huge area!
As the storm starts to ease up in the U.S., it’s not done yet. It’s actually gaining strength over the Atlantic Ocean and could bring some serious weather to Ireland and the UK.
In Atlantic Canada, they’re getting lucky with frigid temperatures keeping the worst of the storm offshore. They might see a little snow, but nothing too crazy.
But for Ireland and the UK, it’s a different story. This storm is expected to hit hard, with winds possibly reaching over 130 km/h. They’ve even named it Éowyn!
Officials are warning about life-threatening conditions, dangerous travel, and widespread power outages. High waves could lead to coastal flooding too. It’s going to be a wild ride!
