Chrystia Freeland argues that Pierre Poilievre would compromise Canada’s interests with Trump
Ottawa: So, Chrystia Freeland is stepping up her game in the Liberal leadership race. She’s making some bold claims about Pierre Poilievre, saying he’d totally sell Canada out to Donald Trump.
In her first campaign ad, she’s really going after him. She reminds everyone that she’s the one who faced off with Trump during the NAFTA negotiations. And guess what? She thinks he doesn’t like her much because Canada came out on top.
Freeland also mentioned that she left Trudeau’s cabinet because she’s ready to tackle Trump again. She’s got a plan, and she’s not shy about sharing it.
She announced her candidacy on social media and is gearing up for a big launch in Toronto this Sunday. Meanwhile, other candidates are also making their moves. Mark Carney kicked off his campaign in Edmonton, and Karina Gould is set to announce hers this weekend.
With the deadline for candidates to declare fast approaching, it’s getting exciting. Ottawa MP Chandra Arya and former Montreal MP Frank Baylis are in the mix too, along with Cape Breton MP Jaime Battiste. It’s a busy time for the Liberals!
