Elizabeth Trafford, a retiree from Fergus, Ont., is celebrating her $40M Lotto Max win and plans to give back and explore the world.
Trafford used to buy lottery tickets every Saturday, but this time was different. When the lottery terminal announced “Big Winner!”, she was in shock. “I started to hyperventilate,” she said after getting the call from OLG.
She quickly called her son, who rushed over to celebrate with her. It was a moment they’ll never forget. Now, Trafford is focused on getting the right people to help her manage her new wealth. She wants to make a positive impact with her winnings.
“I see myself as a steward of this money,” she explained. She’s eager to support causes that matter to her and ensure her son is well taken care of. “He will get a nice house, but I want to leave a legacy,” she added.
