Toronto is finally getting a break from the extreme cold as warnings lift today
Toronto: The deep freeze is about to let up! After a frigid stretch, the extreme cold warnings are lifting later today. It’s been a rough few days with temperatures feeling like -30 to -35 thanks to some serious Arctic air.
On Tuesday, Environment Canada issued those warnings, and boy, did it get cold! The wind chill made it feel like you were stepping into a freezer. This chill has affected a lot of southern Ontario, causing snow squalls and warnings in places like Mississauga and Hamilton.
Tuesday was a record-breaker, with a high of just -12 C, the coldest day since January 2019. But don’t worry, the worst is over. The warnings should be lifted today, although it’ll still be chilly, feeling like -20 with the wind chill.
Looking ahead, Thursday and Friday are shaping up to be a bit warmer, with highs around -5 C. And the weekend? It’s looking good with some sun and temperatures around -3 C. So, hang in there, warmer days are on the way!
