Washington, D.C.: So, Trump is back in the White House, and it looks like he’s got a lot on his plate. He’s planning to take the U.S. in a whole new direction, which is pretty different from what we’ve seen before. And guess what? He’s already hinting at some serious changes in how the U.S. deals with Canada.
Canadians are definitely keeping an eye on what happens during the inauguration. There’s talk of a hefty 25% tariff on goods coming from Canada, which has folks pretty worried. Trump’s team has been busy prepping over 100 executive orders, but we’re still in the dark about what’s actually in them.
Kirsten Hillman, Canada’s ambassador to the U.S., said they’re all waiting to see what Trump decides to do. Meanwhile, Washington was buzzing with red “Trump” hats over the weekend as supporters gathered for rallies ahead of his big day.
