Vincent Broughm, a tree salesman, shared some insights with The Weather Network. He mentioned that some people are die-hard pine lovers, while others swear by fir. But, he noted that firs are usually the go-to choice because they’re easier to decorate.
According to Broughm, fir trees have multiple branches, making it simple to hang ornaments and garlands. Pines, on the other hand, can be a bit tricky when it comes to decorating.
So, if you’re leaning towards a fir, you’re in good company! Once you’ve picked your tree, there are a few things to keep in mind to make it last.
When you bring your tree home, avoid placing it near a heater. Broughm warns that heat can dry it out quickly. He also has a neat trick for keeping your tree fresh: mix a little soda into the water when you first start watering it.
