A young woman tragically lost her life when her car plunged into Lake Ontario, leaving her family and friends heartbroken.
Agknesa, who moved to Canada from Albania in 2021, was chasing her dreams and supporting her family back home. Her family described the loss as devastating, highlighting her bright smile that could light up any room.
On that fateful Sunday, she was a passenger in a car that entered the water. Emergency responders managed to pull her out, but sadly, she passed away in the hospital.
Her family is now trying to raise funds to bring her back to Albania for a proper burial. They’ve set up a GoFundMe to help cover the costs during this difficult time.
The driver, a 23-year-old named Kristjan Serraj from Oakville, has been charged with dangerous operation causing death. Police are still investigating and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
