Regina: If you’re hoping for a white Christmas, you’re in luck! Most of Canada has a good shot at waking up to snow this year.

Historically, places like the Prairies and the northern territories are almost guaranteed to have snow on Christmas morning. Cities like Ottawa and Montreal also have a solid track record for a snowy holiday.

But last year was a bit of a letdown, with many areas experiencing a green Christmas thanks to El Niño. Even Regina, known for its snowy holidays, had bare ground last year.

This year, though, things are looking up. The weather patterns are more neutral, which is a good sign. We might even see conditions similar to a La Niña year.

Of course, it’s still too early to predict exactly what will happen. So, keep an eye out for our holiday snow report coming on December 18!
