Things got pretty wild recently when Syrian President Bashar Assad reportedly fled to Russia after losing control of Damascus to opposition forces. His family had been in power for a whopping 50 years, so this is a huge shift.
Since 2015, Canada has welcomed over 100,000 Syrian refugees. As of the end of September, there are nearly 1,600 pending claims from Syria in Canada, while Germany is juggling more than 47,000. Quite the difference, right?
