Arlene Dickinson expresses concern over Kevin O’Leary’s comments on Trump, saying they aren’t beneficial for Canada amid trade tensions.
Montebello: So, Arlene Dickinson, one of the stars from “Dragons’ Den,” is really calling out Kevin O’Leary. She’s not happy with his recent comments about Trump and how they affect Canada.
She thinks O’Leary’s ideas about an economic union with the U.S. aren’t helping, especially with Trump throwing around trade threats. It’s a tense time, and she feels he’s not representing Canadians well.
During a cabinet retreat, Dickinson said O’Leary is “negotiating against Canada.” She’s part of Prime Minister Trudeau’s advisory council, which is all about improving Canada-U.S. relations.
Trudeau set up this council just before Trump’s return to the White House, knowing the potential for more tariffs. Dickinson believes O’Leary’s approach isn’t the right way to go.
She mentioned that if O’Leary was negotiating for Canada, that would be fine, but he’s not. She wants all political leaders to unite and speak with one voice during these negotiations.
O’Leary recently met with Trump and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith at Mar-a-Lago, discussing tariffs and pipelines. He’s been vocal about his views on Trudeau’s policies, calling them a disaster.
It’s a complicated situation, and Dickinson hopes everyone can come together for Canada’s sake. This is definitely a story to keep an eye on!
