Ontario: So, it looks like Ontario is in for quite the weather shake-up. We’ve got some lake-effect snow squalls hanging around until Thursday, and then a bigger snow event is on the way as the weekend rolls in.

Now, don’t expect a ton of snow, but enough to make the roads a bit slippery. If you’re driving, keep your eyes peeled for those quick changes in conditions. It might get a little dicey out there.

After a brief warm-up this weekend, the real chill is set to hit on Sunday. We’re talking about some of the coldest temps we’ve seen in years. It’s going to be a shock to the system!

For those in northern Ontario, brace yourselves for a jaw-dropping drop in temperatures—up to 24°C in just a day! Southern Ontario won’t escape unscathed either, with a noticeable 15°C drop expected.

Sunday is when the Arctic air really makes its entrance, sticking around until Wednesday. And yes, more lake-effect snow is likely next week, but it should be spread out enough to avoid any crazy totals.

Just to give you an idea of how cold it’s going to get, places like Kenora are looking at highs of -28°C, which we haven’t seen since January 2019. London and Ottawa are also in for some serious cold.

As we move into February, there’s a chance for milder air to push in, but who knows? It could bring some messy storms instead. Keep your fingers crossed for an early spring!
